Since 2003, G4S employees have helped Kids Help Phone become the frontline service that it is today

From trouble with homework to dealing with loss and grief, from sexual identity questions to thoughts of suicide, kids can talk to Kids Help Phone about anything. They know they can trust Kids Help Phone; counsellors don’t use call display, and don’t trace calls or IP addresses. No matter the question, no matter the problem ...

But mental health is actually the number one reason kids contact Kids Help Phone. In 2010, close to 30 per cent of the calls our counsellors received related to mental health. Those concerns ranged from eating disorders to self-harm to self-esteem.

Since 2003, G4S employees have helped Kids Help Phone become the frontline service that it is today. G4S not only provides cash pick-up service during Kids Help Phone’s most important fundraising events of the year, employees also actively join in raising funds.
 
This year will mark G4S’s 9th year participating in the charity’s 10th annual Walk being held on Sunday May 1st.
 
This important event not only marks a milestone anniversary, it also marks the start of a national movement supported by thousands of people from 40 communities across the country who are committed to offering safe, accessible, age-appropriate and immediate counselling to young people. Kids Help Phone counsellors play a vital role in reducing mental distress by always being available to kids with non-judgemental help and support.
 
Mental health problems can happen to any kid, anywhere, anytime, regardless of their age or circumstance. When those problems happen, Kids Help Phone can help, but can’t do it in silence.
 
As a national community-based charity, Kids Help Phone relies on individual and corporate donations to fund this vital service. That’s why the commitment and passion of G4S employees across Canada means so much to the thousands of kids who contact Kids Help Phone every single week.
