G4S Partnerships in Sport

In June 2007, we launched G4S 4teen, an innovative sports development program that provides support to 14 promising young athletes, who were selected from different G4S markets around the world, and across a variety of Olympic sports.

Through G4S 4teen, these talented teenage sportsmen and women have been given opportunities they previously may not have had, in either their sporting or personal lives. For example, all 14 athletes are mentored by double Olympic gold medalist Haile Gebrselassie. The iconic Ethiopian long distance runner imparts advice and inspiration to this next generation of sports stars, guiding them on their path to achieving their sporting goals.

The program, which not only engages our vast global workforce but also enables us to give something back to the communities in which we operate, has already helped one athlete to win gold at the 2008 Olympic Games, and it is hoped more will follow in 2012.
